Eolo Paul Bottaro (AU) - lunedì 17 ottobre 2007 - 11.56.42 I had the pleasure of working with Dolores Gardassanich back in 2000 on a fresco restoration in nissoria , provence of enna. Dolores was the first person to introduce me to the fresco process whilst in italy and then further educate me on this process. her works based on sicilia , specifically the catania region are a wonderful interpretation both of landscape and architecture of the area. i believe sicilia has many landscape painters , but once you have walked through the foot hills of mount etna and the back streets of catania only then can you realy feel the conviction that Dolores gives to her subject. There are only few whose work you can smell and feel the warm sicilian sun and air , and place oneself in this ancient mysterious place . Salvatore Occhipinti (I) - giovedì 23 agosto 2007 - 13.10.22 Gentilissima Prof.ssa Gardassanich, ho avuto modo di visitare il suo sito più volte e sono rimasto sorpreso della precisione e della completezza. Certo le riproduzioni fotografiche, pur di alta qualità, non daranno mai le emozioni che può dare un suo dipinto che in alcuni casi sembra veramente uscire fuori dalla tavolozza per prendere vita autonoma. I suoi quadri non sono semplice riproduzione di una realtà oggettiva ma danno la sensazione che tale realtà acquisti una sua nuova forma e forza e che i colori, le pennellate, le ombre rendano tutto nuovo ed animato: la realtà oggettiva apparentemente morta che esterna la sua anima nascosta viva e vigorosa.
